Tackle Talk for the week of October 13

The Adam Bower Dam bags have been deflated and the river is low and clear. The park service will probably be putting the bags up and down every once and awhile to check them. There are some walleyes being taken however slow during the day. After dark there is some action at some of the popular locations. Channel catfishing and flathead action has been good with the hot and humid weather. Some large catfish have been taken at some of the popular holes. The...

Several nice walleye were caught this week on Cotton Cordell Big O’s in smokey joe and crawdad colors. White Deer and Fishing Creek anglers have reported some success even though the water is low with live butterworms, medium shiners, and small Panther Martin spinners....

Tackle Talk for the week of September 22

The Susquehanna River is looking nice but getting close to September lows with several days of slow rain needed to return things to normal. Several anglers have hit it just right and caught some nice smallies at some of the popular spots. There are periods when the fish just shut down. Eel’s have been caught at various locations on the river this week. Some walleye are being caught at the popular locations. Reef Runners, Cordell Wally Divers, and Double hook worm rigs with spinners seem to be the lures of choice. Anglers are reporting early September topwater action mostly in...
