Top water smallmouth action has been good on the Susquehanna River at most locations. Low water conditions are making it difficult for boaters below the Adam Bower Dam. Prop baits like Crazy Shad, Crippled Killers, and Rapala Skitter Prop style baits are producing good action. The walleye fishing has been fair in most areas using crank baits and core shot 3-inch twisters. Most walleye have been in the 17 inch range or larger. Channel catfishing and flathead action has been good with the hot and humid weather. Some large catfish have been taken at some of the popular holes. The baits of choice have been prepared chicken livers and Sudden Impact dough bait. Some muskie are being caught at various locations on some of the popular lures. Trout fishing is still good on most area streams with September turning out to be a very good producer for most anglers. Small spinners, waxworms, butterworms, and micro lures have been the baits of choice. The die hard anglers are still doing well with water levels good in most creeks and lakes.
Garrett Hollenbach caught this beauty on the Susquehanna River on a bucktail spinner. Another great catch by one of your customers! Congratulations Garrett!
