Tackle Talk for the week of November 26

Old Trail Tackle & Sports Tackle Talk

There is decent walleye fishing at the Adam Bower Dam due to the fact that all the bags are down.  Most fisherman are catching nice sized walleye, but not a lot of full stringers.  The baits of choice have been large live shiners, 4 ½ inch rubber twist minnows in smoke, yellow and silver with blue back.  Cabin Creek salty leeches are also a good bait if fished slowly and close to the bottom.  The Adam Bower Dam, Isle of Que, and Hoover’s Island south to McKees Half Falls have been producing some nice smallmouth bass for shore fisherman. The most effective lures for smallies have been 3/8oz. bucktails with black, orange/brown and white.  Rapala, Storm and Challenger lures in various colors usually in 3 ¾ inch size have also been working well in these areas.  Several muskies have been caught using Bomber No. 17 lures and 8-inch Charlie Mega Baits.  Most area lakes, including Faylor Lake, Walker Lake, and Little Buffalo have and abundance of fish and are a good bet for some great fall fishing.
