The Susquehanna River is at a good fishing level and has little color. Channel catfishing has been good, especially at night. The baits of choice have been prepared blood, chicken dough and large live shiners. Anglers are reporting all species of fish being caught but some are out of season and released immediately. Anglers are picking up some nice walleye below the Adam Bower Dam on 5-inch smoke twist minnows and Old Trail Salted Tubes in smoke, Swedish Pimples and double spinner worm rigs tipped with live leeches. Near the area around Reed’s Island in the Danville area, some nice smallies are being taken and released on 3 1/2 inch Slug-Go’s, Old Trail Salted Tubes and 4-inch Exude Fry rubber worms. Several muskie have been hooked in the popular area of the river on Rat-L-Trap Mag Force lures and River 2 Sea Whopper Ploppers in various colors. Trout fishing on most area streams has been good with lots of trout left in most areas. Baits of choice have been butterworms, redworms, small Hildebrandt-flicker spinners and small Rapala lures in various colors.
Kristian Eriksson caught this huge 6 pound 18 inches bass on a Zoom Trick worm in green pumpkin. Congratulations on a great catch Kristian!
