The Susquehanna River is in good shape but a little high with good flow and relatively clear water. They are still picking up some good smallmouth in the deeper slower area on Old Trail Salted tubes and bucktail jigs. Green, black, and purple colors are working well. Walleye fishing has been good from the Adam Bower Dam south to Hoover’s Island. Some of the better walleye lures have been Swedish Pimples and 3/8 oz. bucktails fished slowly and close to the bottom. Also Rapala glass shad raps have been a good choice for walleye this past week. The better colors have been gold, clown, and hot steel. The better walleye action has been after dark at most locations but some fish are showing up at daybreak and dusk. This is a good time of year for muskie and will get even better as water becomes cooler and we move closer to winter. Some of the better baits have been large live shiners and 6 to 7 inch rubber shad tails in various colors. Some of the best trout fishing has been taking place on most local streams. Rooster tails, small Mepp's, Blue Fox spinners, butterworms, and gold mealworms are working well this time of year.
