Anglers fishing the Susquehanna River are reporting some nice catches of catfish in the Shady Nook area, using large nightcrawler and prepared catfish baits.  Some large carp are being caught in and around the PP&L plant area, and a few flathead catfish and carp have been caught at Hoover’s Island south of Selinsgrove.  The river is low, but anglers fishing the deeper holes are catching some nice smallmouth bass, Old Trail Tackle & Sports Premium 3.5” Salted Tubes in various colors, Berkley 3-inch Black Bungee Leeches andStorm Chug Bug lures are producing well.  At McKees Half Falls sallies are hitting topwater lures such as Jitterbugs, Rebel Pop-R’s, Storm Arashi Top Walker and River2Sea Whopper Plopper in 5-inch size and various colors.  Walker Lake is giving up some large crappie mostly on 1/16 oz. spinnerbaits and small tubes.  At Raymond B. Winter Lake, trout are being caught onBerkley Power Bait in corn, chartreuse and yellow colors. Several nice muskies have been caught at some of the most popular locations this past week.  The lure of choice have been River2Sea S-Waver 168, Rapala F-18 in various colors and Savage Gear Line Thru 8-inch Trout.
