The Susquehanna River is still somewhat high from recent rain which has changed the depth and color of the water at most locations. Anglers are still reporting all species of fish being caught at some of the better areas below the Adam Bower Dam south to the Isle of Que. Live nightcrawlers have been the bait of choice though some fish are being taken on Old Trail Salted Tubes in standard colors, fished slowly off the bottom with a quarter ounce jighead. Some nice channel cats and fatheads are being caught at several locations from the Adam Bower Dam, south to Hoover's Island. Anglers are reporting that Sudden Impact bait, large live nightcrawlers and real chicken livers are what the big cats are hitting. Most trout streams are in good shape and producing well. Fisherman are doing well at Big Pine Creek, Slate Run, White Deer, Little Buffalo Lake and Raymond Winter (Halfway Dam) Lake. Gold mealworms, redworms and Rooster tails spinners in various colors are producing some nice fish. There have been several reports of some nice crappie being caught at Little Buffalo Lake and Walker Lake mostly on small shad darts and green, small tube jigs in various colors are also working well.
Chris Carr caught this 32-inch channel catfish at Hoover's Island. Great catch Chris!! Congratulations!
