The Susquehanna River is higher than normal and off color but is fishable at most locations. Most anglers are reporting some nice catches below the Adam Bower and PP&L Dams. Live nightcrawlers, Maniac 3"inch Salt Sticks and Poor Boy Erie Darter Junior in the most common colors have been very effective. This past several weeks anglers have been reporting some good top water action with Gaines Crippled Killer's, Heddon Torpedoes and Rebel Pop R's as some of the top choices. Anglers are reporting good bass fishing on Middle Creek at some of the popular spots. Muskie action on the Susquehanna River has been fair at all the popular locations. Storm 10-inch and 8-inch Rubber Kickin' Minnows, Rebel Windcheaters and Big Fin spinners baits are some excellent choices for large muskie. Trout fishing is still good on most area streams even though some were a little higher than normal. Penns Creek and White Deer Creek have been top destinations for trout fisherman the past several weeks. Anglers are doing well on most streams using gold colored spinners (Swiss Swings), Mepps and small Rapalas, sulphur dry flies and various beaded head nymphs. As weather conditions start to improve we should start to have some excellent late summer fishing.
Photo Details: Scott Mowery caught this huge bass below the fabridam on the Susquehanna River using a top water bait. Great catch Scott. Congratulations!
