Anglers are reporting good fishing for all species from the Adam Bower Dam south to McKee's Half Falls. Rock bass fishing has been good at various locations. Channel catfish have been active at some of the popular locations. The baits of choice have been live nightcrawlers and large live shiners but several anglers reported catching channel cats on crankbaits and Old Trail salted tubes while fishing for smallmouth bass. Crappie are getting active at Walker Lake and most area lakes. Small tubes, twisters, and Rosey red minnows are working well. Tubes with yellow and orange in them have been effective. Some trout anglers are getting some pre-season action on some of the catch and release areas of some Pennsylvania streams. Most action during the day has been slow but the early morning and evening hours seem to be producing the best. Some anglers have already reported seeing some activity possibly small little black stoneflys #16 and black caddis #16. Some of the more productive streams on the first week were the Mahantango, Clarks Creek, and Powells Creek.
