The Susquehanna River water levels are very good and the water color is excellent. Some nice walleye are being taken at the Adam Bower Dam. The best Walleye action is on Erie Dearies, Thomas lures, and Owner Crank-n-Shad. Elsewhere on the river, fishing has been good with some nice catfish and muskie being caught on bloodbath and catfish bites. Muskie action has been best in the late evening or early morning. The lures of choice have been jointed Creek Grubs, Musky Mania Burts, Storm 10-inch Kickin Minnow and Mepps Musky Killer Spinners. Most anglers are still having success with trout on such streams as Penns Creek, Swift Run, White Deer and Pine Creek. Some of the better baits have been waxworms, butterworms, red worms, and small Hildebrandt Flicker Spinners. Most streams still have good populations of trout. At Walker Lake some nice bass are being caught on Rapala Original Floating Lures in hot steel, vampire and fire tiger colors. Some large crappie have also been caught in recent weeks. Anglers have reported that Shimano Sedona, Sonora and Nexave 1000 and 2500 reels have been working well for the above mentioned fishing and are on sale now!
Dennis Eckrote caught this catfish which is a little over 20", right below the Fabridam on a crawdad fly bounced along the bottom. Great catch Dennis!
