Susquehanna River conditions are very good for this time of year, the water is clear and cool. Fishing below the Adam Bower Dam has been very good, with all species of fish being caught, including some large walleye. Rubber twisters in chartreuse, white, and green, also 3 1/2 inch lures in various colors are also a good choice. All trout streams are well stocked and in good shape. Rapid Run, White Deer Creek, Mahantango Creek and upper Penns Creek are producing well. Waxworms, gold mealworms, and butterworms have been the best choices for fishing those streams. Anglers have also reported success with march browns, blue-winged olives and caddis flies. Some nice muskies have been caught at some of the popular areas of the river using Bomber Long A Mags (rainbow), Odyssey Pig Jr. lures and live pike shiners. As conditions improve in the lower Susquehanna we are starting to see some shad show up at the Adam Bower Dam.
