Fishing on the Susquehanna River has been fair to good at most areas even though the water has been high from recent upstream rain. Some nice smallmouth bass and walleye are being caught at the Adam Bower Dam, the PP&L dams, and at several spots south to the McKees Half Falls area. The baits of choice at these locations has been large live nightcrawlers, large live shiners, medium size 3 inch shallow runner lures and spinner baits. Penns Creek in Glenn Iron and the Coburn area has been good. Fly hatches have been heavy all week. Small trout lures and waxworms are producing well. Other waterways that are yielding nice fish are Little Shamokin Creek , Mahantango Creek, Clarks Creek, and Raymond B. Winter Lake. All types of Berkley powerbaits and butterworms are the baits of choice in these areas. The Adam Bower Dam at Sunbury should be fully inflated in the next several days.
